Air Arabia Group launched a new recruitment drive for Airbus A320 First Officers currently residing in Argentina and Chile. The Sharjah-based low-cost carrier (LCC) scheduled a series of in-person selection events in the region for March 2026, according to information released through its official recruitment channel on LinkedIn.
The airline seeks technical crews with a minimum of 800 flying hours on the Airbus 320 family. While the focus remains on flight deck operations, the company indicated that selected candidates must also be prepared to undertake ground-based responsibilities, such as Safety or Security Officer roles, as directed by the Head of Flight Operations.
The selection process prioritizes pilots with previous experience in the low-cost sector. According to the company’s requirements, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in QA (Quality Assurance), safety, and security audit procedures. The role of First Officer at Air Arabia involves alternating between ‘Pilot Flying’ and ‘Pilot Monitoring’ duties, assisting the Captain in maintaining safety and efficiency across a high-utilization schedule.
Beyond flight deck management, the airline requires its crews to handle specific ground tasks at stations without qualified personnel. These duties include supervising aircraft refueling, ensuring correct fuel distribution, and verifying all technical documentation such as the CFP (Computerized Flight Plan) and aircraft logbooks.
Strategic recruitment in the Southern Cone
The decision to hold a recruitment drive in Argentina and Chile in March 2026 aligns with the carrier’s fleet growth. Air Arabia continues to integrate new units from its previous aircraft requests to support its multi-hub strategy in the Middle East and North Africa. The airline values the technical expertise of South American pilots, who are often sought after for their ability to operate in complex environments.
Candidates must show a high level of composure and the ability to handle emergency procedures efficiently. The company stated that the ideal profile includes pilots who are cost-oriented and capable of delivering results against specific KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while ensuring passenger comfort and operational safety.
