Sky Aviation in Indonesia is conducting acceptance inspection for the first of its 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, and is expected to take delivery before year end. Â The Superjet and its Powerjet engines were certified by Indonesian authorities last month, clearing the way for deliveries.

Start My Test Flight →The success of Superjet in Indonesia is a relief for the manufacturer after an unfortunate accident while marketing the aircraft when a pilot flew below minimum altitudes and crashed into a mountain last year.  This is the Superjet 100s first deliveries into Asia, an important market for the aircraft outside of the Russian Federation.
Sky Aviation is a new entrant in Indonesia, having begun in 2010 with two Cirrus four-seat aircraft. Â They added Fokker 50s in 2011, expanded into international routes in 2012, added a Boeing 737-300, and will take delivery of their first Superjet in December 2012, with the remainder of their order to be delivered by 2015. Â Their current fleet of 8 aircraft serves 21 destinations, and they are on a high growth path.
