The two Mexican ultra-low-cost carriers, Volaris and Viva Aerobus, have released their 2023 third quarter financial results. The first remains the country’s top carrier with over 25 million passengers throughout the year but posted a $39 million net loss during the period, while the second has totaled 18.2 million passengers in the year so far and had a $56 million net income in the third quarter.
Volaris’ results
In the period between July and September 2023, Volaris had total operating revenues of $848 million, a 10% increase versus the same period last year. Enrique Beltranena, the airline’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said the performance showed resilience and resulted in revenue growth.
