Scott Tapson, VP of Business Development at Jazz, talks about their experience with the Q400. We sat in their airplane at the show and spoke about Jazz and their thoughts on growing their fleet of turboprops. The airline is replacing early generation regional jets with turboprops – some might regard this as a step backwards. But running an airline is first about running a business. The Q400 is nearly as fast and offers compelling economics – the current high fuel price only serves to endorse their decision.

From a customer point of view, I find the CRJ700 to be a far more comfortable and faster plane, not to mention it has the entertainment system. I’m disappointed we are losing our CRJ700 service for slower and noisier Q400s.
