Jack McHale is former president of ORBIS, the flying eyesight saving organization. They have been doing stellar work for years and are about to move on to their third airplane. They started with a DC-8 from United. Then they had a DC-10 from United and now they are taking an MD-10 from FedEx. Over the years ORBIS has done amazing work helping people in under developed countries, saving people’s eyesight and training local doctors. It is heartwarming that so many people volunteer their services to help out in this really noble cause.

A beautiful interview of a very nice individual dedicated to a fabulous project. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I have been following Orbis since its inception almost three decades ago; reading thrilling reports in Aviation Week about this unique humanitarian effort. It’s refreshing to see all this generosity in the otherwise very greedy and cynical world that we live in.
