Last year Joe Clark and his team showed off a video of how a new wing might work with flexible control surfaces.  This year they showed off a mock-up.  It was amazing.  The video shows the working at the back of the wing .  But the same thing is happening at the front of the wing.  The result is amazing.  Mr Clark suggested we might be seeing these on a real aircraft soon.  A large aircraft.

  1. I’m curious about stress fracture, bend a wire back and forth it generates heat causing fracture. I am sure these are people much smarter then I am, however, i am curious.

  2. David I did not see any wires. But I can tell you the movement was quiet. Joe spoke about actuators inside the wing.
