ATR 72-600 HighLine
Flying Business Class-only on an ATR 72-600 has become a reality with the delivery of the first HighLine version of the aircraft to Malaysian carrier Berjaya Air. The airline is the first in the world to receive a premium cabin with 26 leather seats.
Berjaya defines itself as a “premium boutique airline, redefining regional travel through comfort, care, and simplicity.” It operates out of Subang Airport with one ATR 42-600 and a 72-600, plus a Bombardier BD-700.

Start My Test Flight →The new 72-600 is the first of two that Berjaya ordered at the 2023 Paris Airshow. Deliveries were scheduled for 2025 and 2026, but this has slipped some six months as certification of the Business interior by EASA and the Malaysian regulators took a little longer. The second aircraft should be due this Q3.
Berjaya intends to operate the aircraft between its hotel resorts in Malaysia, with the first route between Subang and Koh Samui. Later on, the plan is to open routes to resorts in Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
“This new cabin experience enables us to offer guests a seamless and refined journey to some of the region’s most sought-after destinations, while maintaining our strong commitment to operational efficiency and service excellence. Whether serving resort destinations or charter operations across the region, the ATR HighLine cabin allows us to deliver an end-to-end premium travel experience that reflects Berjaya’s hospitality heritage and long-term vision”, Berjaya Property CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameed is quoted on a media statement.
Geven produces the handcrafted ETEREA-seats with a 21.6-inch cushion width in a 1-by-1 position. It offers ample personal space, thanks to private stowing space right next to the seat. ATR offers this all-BC version with a maximum of 30 seats at a 34 or 35 inch pitch, but Berjaya opted for more space by removing four seats. The range is about 3.370 kilometres. ATR launched the HighLine concept in 2024 with a number of seat variants. It also includes a VIP version and dual and triple seat arrangements.
The Franco-Italian airframer hopes to attract more customers for this version. Air Tahiti ordered four All-Business aircraft at the 2025 Paris Airshow. “The ATR HighLine cabin collection opens new possibilities for operators seeking exceptional onboard comfort while leveraging all the efficiency and operational benefits of the aircraft. Together with Berjaya Air, we are demonstrating the inherent versatility of the ATR platform, capable of adapting to a wide range of operator needs without compromising its core strengths”, said CEO Nathalie Tarnaud Laude.
