Boeing delivered 57 aircraft in September, its best month of 2026. The deliveries included 43 MAXs, 8 787s, 2 777 freighters, and 4 767s, three of which were KC-46 tankers for Boeing’s defense unit. Year-to-date is 475 (+8%), including 363 MAXs, a record for the first nine months.
The 3Q total was 161, up from 160 a year ago. Boeing’s MAX output still averages ~41 a month, short of the 47 target, which Kelly Ortberg said has taken longer than planned. Backlog is reported at 6,371, but sources use different bases (Forecast International had 6,748 in August). Let’s dig into the numbers.
