Rolls-Royce hopeful of A350-1000 order as Emirates selects more -900s

Emirates has placed an Airbus A350 order at the Dubai Airshow after all, but not the one for the -1000 that was anticipated before the show. Instead, Emirates will buy 15 more A350-900s for delivery between 2026 and 2028. Rolls-Royce remains hopeful that an A350-1000 order will eventually will come.

The order was announced with almost identical press releases from Airbus and Emirates on Thursday. There was no press conference. The deal was reportedly finalized on Wednesday evening when Airbus Chief Commercial Officer Christian Scherer was supposed to leave Dubai that same evening. Emirates says that the order is valued at $6 billion in list prices, although Airbus

hasn’t shared list prices anymore since 2019.
