During last month’s Capital Markets Day, hydrogen seemed suspiciously absent from the presentations from Rolls-Royce’s top management. But don’t get fooled: the OEM is still fully committed to hydrogen. This is confirmed by the recent first tests of a new hydrogen fuel pump system.

“This news demonstrates our commitment to continuing with our hydrogen program and partnership with easyJet. This program will continue with further major milestones planned for next year,” a Rolls-Royce spokesperson tells AirInsight. “Hydrogen is still very much on our agenda but as it is a more long-term solution we are also promoting SAF in the near term.”
