Alaska Airlines invests in blended-wing body aircraft

Alaska Airlines announced today an investment in JetZero, an aviation start-up developing a blended-wing-body aircraft that will provide up to 50% lower fuel burn and lower emissions.  Alaska invested as part of JetZero’s Series A securities last year and is the first airline to do so.

That investment includes options for future aircraft orders and was made by Alaska Star Ventures, the airline’s investment arm.  This investment is one element of a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the airline that is focus on operational efficiency, fleet renewal, SAF, and electrified aircraft.
