The identity of the prospected lessor isn’t known yet or has not been disclosed.

CEO Eduardo Fairen is quoted in a press statement on NewsAvia as saying that negotiations have been “exhaustive”, but ensured the airline of the best conditions for the transaction. He confirmed that the selection of the Dreamliners “is in line with our intention to renew the fleet with efficient, modern aircraft sized according to the routes on which we operate. We are on the right track to progressively replace the current aircraft that show some age and provide a better flight experience for our passengers.”

TAAG’s current long-haul fleet consists of eight Boeing

777-200s that are almost seventeen years old, plus five -300ERs that are close to ten years old. Only three 777-300ERs are in service, with the other aircraft in maintenance or parked in Luanda. There is also one Airbus A330-200 in the fleet of 15.5 years old.
