Angola’s national carrier TAAG Angola continues its fleet renewal plans by announcing an order for four Boeing 787s. While the airline nor Boeing share only few details, it is believed to be an order for 787-9s that will be delivered from August 2024 on a sale and leaseback basis. The identity of the prospected lessor isn’t known yet or has not been disclosed.

CEO Eduardo Fairen is quoted in a press statement on NewsAvia as saying that negotiations have been “exhaustive”, but ensured the airline of the best conditions for the transaction. He confirmed that the selection of the Dreamliners “is in line with our intention to renew the fleet with efficient, modern aircraft sized according to the routes on which we operate. We are on the right track to progressively replace the current aircraft that show some age and provide a better flight experience for our passengers.”
