A220 FAL 01 e1565017668176
Airbus has begun production of the A220 at its facility in Mobile, Alabama. The former Bombardier C Series is now a majority US content airplane assembled in the United States, and not subject to international trade issues, which Boeing had asserted in trying (and losing) to have the A220, nee C Series, banned from the US market.
Combined with the factory in Mirabel, Quebec, the production capacity of the two facilities should reach 14 per month over the next few years as Airbus ramps-up production of the increasingly popular aircraft, which will be a strong replacement candidate for again A319 and 737-700 models.
