Boing, after acquiring 80% of Embraer’s commercial aircraft operations for $4.2 billion, is renaming those operations Boeing Brasil – Commercial. Embraer, which retained the business jet and defense businesses, will continue to operate under its own name in those segments.
No decision has yet been made regarding branding of the aircraft, but it is likely that just as Airbus renamed the Bombardier CSeries the A220 after acquiring 51% of the business, it is likely that Boeing will rename the Embraer commercial aircraft models as well.
