The Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry jumped on the news this Friday that the first eVTOL has been granted type certification. Some 2,5 years after filing an application, China’s eHang has received the TC from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). However, eHang will have to comply with some additional requirements before it can launch autonomous passenger services.
The eHang EH126-S eVTOL was presented as a full-scale model last June at the Paris Airshow, sitting next to Archer in the dedicated AAM presentation. Compared to the US eVTOL and most of its competitors, the vehicle is very different.
