On the sidelines of the 2021 Dubai Airshow, AirInsight talks to three of the region’s low-cost airlines on the recovery from the Covid-crisis, the market situation, their strategy, and fleet plans. Today, we talk to Ghaith Al Ghaith, the CEO of flydubai. Launched in 2009, it was one of the first LCC’s in the Middle East. The airline was hit by the pandemic, but the recovery has been strong. It is faced with new competitors like Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, but that is not a problem. flydubai and Emirates are now in the fifth year of their partnership, with more opportunities to come.
