The problem may impact 133 NG models and 179 MAX models worldwide. Boeing
notified the FAA that these parts may have been improperly manufactured and may not meet regulatory requirements for durability and strength.
The FAA will issue an airworthiness directive that mandates replacing those parts within 10 days. While all MAX aircraft are currently grounded, 133 NG models that are still flying will need replacement parts as the busy summer travel season begins.
