UPDATE – Turkish Airlines reportedly is to announce an order anytime soon for up to 345 Airbus aircraft. Turkish aviation website HavaSosyalMedya quoted national media on Saturday that the carrier has reached an agreement in Istanbul with Airbus’ top management.
The order is said to include 250 A321neo’s, 75 A350-900s, 15 A350-1000s, and five A350F full freighters. This makes 345 aircraft. Turkish Airlines already ordered 10 A350-900s in September, so this would bring recent orders to 350.
As reported on Saturday, the airline announced last week that it has sourced 21 aircraft from three different lessors
(CDB Aviation, DAE, and Jackson Square) as part of its growth plans. It secured leases with AerCap for 28 aircraft in October.
