Embraer’s commercial aviation President, Arjan Meijer, shared the path his company is taking to deliver sustainable commercial aviation. Given the uncertain path facing the commercial aviation industry, and the amount of hot air given to the subject in Boston, Embraer may have offered the clearest path. Unlike other OEMs, Embraer is following multiple paths.
It has already seen strong positive market reaction to eVTOL program named Eve. Note that, unlike any other eVTOL projects, Embraer has developed and certified aircraft before. Making them the most credible OEM in the space. Embraer has a history of quietly underpromising and overdelivering. Its turboprop project is risky, but given how Embraer has developed aircraft before, that risk is likely manageable. Finally, as Arjan explained, an airline that looks at 2030 could, potentially, cut its CO2 by some 30% by moving to 100% SAF and E2 deployments. That is a tremendous step towards any of the goals set forward to date like 2035 at the earliest.
