Air Cargo Demand Soared by 11.9% in February

The air cargo industry is defying economic gravity, experiencing a sustained surge in demand. According to IATA, February 2024 marked the third consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year growth, with global cargo tonne-kilometers (CTKs) rising by 11.9%. This outpaces the modest growth in global trade, highlighting the air cargo industry's ability to adapt and capitalize on changing market dynamics. Notably, intra-European routes are experiencing a resurgence, witnessing their strongest growth in nearly three years (24.5% year-on-year). This revitalization suggests a potential shift in focus within the European market. Latin America (13.4% YoY growth) and Asia-Pacific (11.2% YoY growth) also contribute to the global boom.
