Delta Air Lines has kicked off the results season by announcing a $4.6 billion net profit for 2023 (GAAP), with operating revenues up by 15 percent year on year to $58 billion. And the carrier finally confirmed a long-anticipated order for the Airbus A350-1000, with 20 firm orders plus 20 options, it said on Friday.
Delta has been sitting on the A350-1000 order since mid-2022, but confirmation comes only today. “The A350-1000 will be the largest, most capable aircraft in Delta’s fleet and is an important step forward for our international expansion. The aircraft complements our fleet and offers an elevated customer experience, with more premium seats and best-in-class amenities, as well as expanded cargo capabilities,” said CEO Ed Bastian.
