JetSMART Airbus A321neo CC-AWW
JetSMART Argentina has announced the addition of three Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet, which are currently operating in other subsidiaries of the group. The official presentation of the first A321neo, registration CC-AWW, took place this Thursday at Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires. The event was led by the company’s CEO, Estuardo Ortiz, alongside Gonzalo PĂ©rez Corral, manager in Argentina, and Arturo Barreira, Airbus representative for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The first A321neo landed in Buenos Aires at 5:55 a.m. The other two aircraft, registered CC-DIC and CC-DIE, will arrive in the country on March 13.
Although incorporating these aircraft will not immediately increase JetSMART Argentina’s operational fleet, as some A320s in its current fleet will undergo scheduled maintenance checks, the company expects to complete this process by mid-year. As a result, the airline will reach 15 aircraft based in Argentina for the peak winter season, compared to the current 12.
The A321neo, configured with 240 seats, will allow for increased seat availability on high-demand domestic routes. Its operational cost, comparable to that of an A320ceo/neo, makes its integration viable and enhances efficiency in higher-traffic markets.
Flexible fleet management strategy
Since its inception, JetSMART has implemented a strategy of aircraft mobility among its regional subsidiaries. With an order for 100 aircraft from the A320 family, including 14 units of the long-range A321XLR variant, the group adjusts its supply based on demand, optimizing capacity across its different subsidiaries.
Until recently, the Argentine subsidiary was not part of this aircraft rotation scheme due to regulatory restrictions. However, recent regulatory changes promoted by Javier Milei’s administration have enabled the reimplementation of the Interchange system and the certification of the A321, facilitating the dynamic integration of the fleet in Argentina.
