The Asia-Pacific region witnessed a positive trend in on-time arrivals (OTP) for June 2024. The number of canceled flights significantly decreased by 16% compared to May, indicating a smoother flow of air traffic.

Thai AirAsia (FD) emerged as the most punctual airline in the region with an OTP of 85.19%, a nearly 2% improvement from the previous month. This growth was mirrored at its hub, Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), which achieved an OTP of 83.28%, as reported by Cirium.

Following closely behind Thai AirAsia, Japan Airlines (JL) maintained an OTP of 85.10%. However, this was a slight decline from its May performance as its hub, Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND), also experienced a 2-point decrease in OTP compared to May.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) held the third position with an OTP of 83.71%. Despite holding its position among the top three, ANA also saw a minor decline in on-time arrivals compared to the previous month. This trend continued at Narita International Airport (NRT), a major hub for ANA, where OTP dropped by nearly 5 points.

Mixed Results

Air New Zealand (NZ) and AirAsia (AK) retained their positions in the top five, although both airlines experienced a decline in OTP compared to May. This decrease was reflected at their respective hubs, Auckland Airport (AKL) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).

While the top five airlines saw some fluctuations in OTP compared to May, the remaining carriers displayed a wider range of performance. Vietnam Airlines (VN) stood out with a consistent OTP of 77.67%, maintaining its position at number six.

On the other hand, Singapore Airlines (SQ) experienced a slight decline, landing in tenth place with an OTP of 74.53%. Moreover, Qantas (QF), Korean Air (KE), and Virgin Australia (VA) fell within the middle range, achieving OTPs between 75.43% and 77.49%.

Overall Improvement in OTP

The overall on-time arrival rate for the Asia-Pacific region in June was 79.52%, indicating an improvement in flight operations. Here are the top 10 most punctual airlines in the area, alongside their OTP and number of flights.
