Boeing, as anticipated, formally launched the 737MAX10 this morning, announcing that the aircraft has garnered 240 orders from 10 customers to be announced during the Paris Air Show this week. Â Today’s order announcements included GECAS, CDB Leasing, Tibet Leasing, TUI Group and an LOI from SpiceJet.
Kevin McAlister, Boeing Commercial’s CEO, stated that “airlines wanted a larger, better option in the large single-aisle segment with the operating advantages of the 737MAX family. Adding the 737 MAX 10 gives our customers the most flexibility in the market, providing their fleets the range capability, fuel efficiency, and unsurpassed reliability the 737 MAX family is widely known for.”
The aircraft is 66 inches. longer than the existing MAX 9, and accommodates 10 additional passengers in 2 class configuration. Â With one additional fuel tank, the -10 has a range of 3,215 nm, compared with 3,515 for the best selling MAX8 model. Â the MAX 10 includes a new mid-exit door, a lighter flat aft pressure bulkhead, a levered main landing gear, and a modified wing for low speed drag reduction.
