We are excited to share this updated data visual. Years in development, and having just added November 2024 yesterday, what we have to share is as current as possible. We believe this visual is novel. Subscribers are familiar with our data library, which we are adding this model to. The model below is our US Airline fleet tracker, with considerable tweaks and refinements. We connected the US DoT On-Time dataset to an external source by aircraft tail number to enable a deep dive into fleet activities. There are seven pages, and here's what you see: A menu to select airline, OEM, and aircraft type. Two charts showing average arrival delays. The menu allows drilling down. There is one table and one chart. Both focus on arrival delays. Note that the chart is dynamic—click the play button to see the model move over time. A menu to select an airline. Two tables showing on-time performance by departure airport. It is the same as page four but for arrival airports. This page is static and displays a chart for each US-reporting airline. You see average departure and arrival delays in minutes. Look for airlines that save time, and note each airline's average cost per operational minute. Delays are not free. There are two menus to select from: one chart and one table showing the fleet activity rates. Consider this an overview of which airlines and, especially, which aircraft are workhorses. The tables list flights per day by tail number. This model's pièce de résistance has three menus, two of which are pie charts, which drive the model.
