Reuters broke a story earlier this week that Boeing engineers are reducing the scope and duration of costly physical tests used to certify new aircraft, according to industry sources and regulatory officials.
Coming after two accidents in which a faulty system got through the certification process through inadequate testing at Boeing, this indicates that Boeing management is tone deaf to pursue these certification shortcuts at this time.
