But he certainly made it!

  • China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited signed a firm order for 50 A320neo Family aircraft. This latest incremental order brings CALC’s total order book to date to around 200 Airbus single-aisle aircraft.
  • Indigo Partners and its four portfolio airlines for the purchase of 430 additional A320neo Family aircraft for Frontier Airlines (United States), JetSMART (Chile), Volaris (Mexico) and Wizz Air (Hungary).  The signed purchase agreement follows an MoU among the parties announced at the Dubai Air Show last month.

As of November, Airbus had 333 orders and now gets to more than double that number to 813.  What a swansong for John Leahy.  It might be a long time before we see an order that big again.

Through November Boeing lists 844 orders.  Boeing announced its own blockbuster with 175 MAXs for flyDubai in December.  Boeing still looks set to win the order race this year.   But Airbus closed the gap by a lot with the late visit from Santa.
