As expected, Air Lease Corporation, headed by Steve Udvar-Hazy, signed an MOU for 50 A320neo aircraft with options for 14 more.  They also announced orders for 11 A330 and 1 A321 aircraft at Paris.

“This new order enables ALC to continue to offer its customers the most fuel efficient aircraft in the short and medium to long haul segments. The A320neo Family represents the industry’s new single-aisle benchmark and we look forward to seeing our customers benefitting from the cost savings it promises to deliver,” said Steven Udvar-Hazy, ALC’s CEO.

An announcement on engine choice was not provided, and we would expect a split between the PW GTF and CFM LEAP engines.

This order for 50 neos brings the total for the first day of the show to 140 firm orders (50 ALC, 30 SAS and 60 GECAS), as Airbus is well on its way to its target of 500 orders by mid-year and 1,000 by year end.
