Middle East Airlines converted four of its existing A321neo orders to the new extra long range A321XLR. This was a previously unannounced order for 4 A321neos on the Airbus order book, and makes MEA the launch airline customer for the A321XLR.
The agreement increases MEAs single aisle orders from 11 to 15, including 11 A321neos and 4 A321XLRs with deliveries starting in 2020.
MEA will utilize the A321XLR to strengthen its network in Africa and Asia.
