Airbus released its monthly Orders & Deliveries report for March 2026. The company delivered 60 aircraft to 38 customers during the month and its backlog increased by 261 aircraft. Orders totaled 331 aircraft during the month, and with 60 deliveries and 10 order cancellations remained a positive month for backlog growth. Airbus delivered 8 A220, 41 A320neo family, 3 A330neo, and 8 A350 models during the month.
The following table summarizes Airbus backlog from the end of February through March, which ended with 9,037 aircraft on the books to be delivered. At the projected production of about 870 aircraft for 2026, that is a backlog that could take 10.4 years to fill. Despite the Iran war and high fuel prices, Airbus book to bill ratio for 2026 remains high.

The Bottom Line
Despite multiple supply chain issues and missing production targets each of the last four years, Airbus products remain in high demand, particularly the versatile A321neo family. Airbus continues to grow its backlog and should continue to maintain a lead in production over Boeing, which has its production rate limited by the FAA that is likely to continue for a few years, with modest rate increases.
The question now is how quickly can the company ramp production and solve its long-standing supply chain issues to finally achieve rate 75 for the A320neo family. That’s the key outstanding issue for senior management, and one that has seemingly eluded them since the global pandemic, and appears unlikely until 2028.
