Bolivia’s General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) confirmed it granted authorization for Argentine low-cost carrier Flybondi to commence international operations into the country. José García, Director of the DGAC, announced on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, that the airline successfully navigated the five phases of the certification process required for such services.
During a press conference, García elaborated that Flybondi “has now fully completed the five phases, including the demonstration phase,” further noting that “their schedule will simply be approved based on fleet availability.” This approval positions Flybondi, which operates a fleet primarily composed of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, to become the twelfth international airline serving Bolivia. It will join carriers such as Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Europa, Avianca, Copa Airlines, LATAM (Chile and Perú), Gol, Aercaribe, Conviasa, and Paranair in the Bolivian market.
