Gulfstream Aerospace today revealed the all-new G300 aircraft that will be the latest aircraft in its next generation lineup.  The G300 will join the G400, G500, G600, G700 and G800, all recently introduced within the last decade to provide six alternatives for potential customers from the super mid-sized to ultra long-range intercontinental jets.

The all-new G300 will replace the G280 in Gulfstream’s line-up, and the all-new aircraft will feature panoramic oval windows and the harmony flight deck, including next generation avionics.

The G300 was announced at the company’s Discover the Difference customer event in Savannah, during which a full scale mock-up was shown and photos of the first aircraft in production.

“Fueled by a decade of investment and our future-forward approach, the Gulfstream next-generation fleet offers our customers the most innovative family of aircraft,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “We know how important the super-midsize cabin segment is to our customers, so building on the highly successful G280 program, the G300 will reenergize the category with its heightened technology and safety enhancements, alongside the legendary comfort and styling of a Gulfstream.”

The G300 combines trans-Atlantic range with short-field agility.  It has a range of 3,600nm at Mach 0.80, features a maximum cruise altitude of 45,000 feet, and a cabin altitude of 4,800 ft at FL410.  The aircraft has 100% fresh air, a plasma ionization air purification system, and accommodates up to 10 passengers in two cabin zones.

The G300 Harmony Flight Deck includes six touch screens, paired with Phase-of-Flight intelligence, bringing intuitive technology to pilots. A Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display depicts runways and terrain in 3D imagery to boost pilot situational awareness, and the companyՉ۪s award-winning Predictive Landing Performance System dynamically displays the runway stopping point in real time.

“The G300 program is making great progress and the vision for this aircraft is well on its way to becoming a reality for our customers as they look for an airplane that will exceed their expectations in the super-midsize class,” added Burns.

The Bottom Line

Gulfstream has completely rebuilt its product line over the last decade, with the replacement of the G280, which started life as the IAI Galaxy, the final piece of the puzzle. This new “baby Gulfstream,” with many of the features and visual cues from its larger brethren, should re-ignite the company’s competitiveness in the super mid-size segment.
