It has been an interesting few weeks in the US airline space. Spirit Airlines is back in Chapter 11. This week, Avelo Airlines placed a big order for E195-E2s. The regional airlines remain under pressure. The space between regionals and ULCCs is tight. In an industry that favors critical mass, small airlines faced daunting odds.

The swing towards the A220 is manifest—the impact from its efficient fuel burn creates opportunities. Breeze must do what every small airline does: cherry-pick. Finding the right markets and avoiding the bigger airlines is not easy. Lukas talks about the business.
