Two years after launching their Joint Venture, LATAM Airlines Colombia and Delta Air Lines reported a 125% increase in seat availability between Colombia and North America. Since 2022, the partnership has transported over 1.2 million passengers and operated nearly 89,000 flights.

The agreement has enabled the launch of new routes, including Cartagena-Atlanta (Delta) and Bogotá-Orlando (LATAM), and increased frequencies on key routes such as Bogotá-Atlanta and Lima-Atlanta.

On a regional scale, LATAM and Delta report a 68% increase in flights between North and South America, with 8 million seats offered over the past two years. In 2023, Ecuador joined the Joint Venture network, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. The partnership also expanded its scope to include cargo transportation.

Regional Expansion and New Opportunities

“For Colombia, the Joint Venture with Delta has strengthened our commercial offering to the United States. Having a partner that connects to over 300 destinations worldwide from its hub in Atlanta has been a competitive advantage,” said Camilo Prieto, National Sales Manager at LATAM Airlines Colombia.

Passengers now enjoy streamlined airport processes, including through-checked baggage and shared terminals at key airports such as New York (JFK), São Paulo (GRU), and Santiago (SCL). Frequent flyer programs LATAM Pass and Delta SkyMiles provide joint mileage accumulation, access to over 58 VIP lounges, and additional benefits for elite members.“We are very proud of the achievements over these two years of collaboration with LATAM, which reflect the success of our Joint Venture,” said Ricardo Garnica, Delta Air Lines’ Regional Sales Manager for Colombia.

Strategic Connectivity and Future Plans

The Joint Venture has operated up to 25 direct routes between key cities in North and South America, including Atlanta, New York, Miami, Bogotá, Santiago, and São Paulo. Seasonal routes such as Santiago-Orlando and New York-Rio de Janeiro have also enhanced connectivity.

Looking ahead, both airlines plan to expand their route network and passenger benefits further, aiming to improve the travel experience and solidify their leadership in the transcontinental market.
