Embraer is upgrading its Praetor mid-sized and super-mid-sized jets with advanced interiors to deliver a more comfortable passenger experience. The Praetor family, already the leader in performance in each of its classes, will now offer an advanced passenger experience that matches its performance leadership in the Praetor 500E and 600E models.

The upgrades in the two new models focus on the aircraft’s interior and the passenger experience. Michael Amalfitano, President of Embraer Executive Aircraft, described the new models as introducing technology never seen in business aviation to provide the Praetor 500E and 600E a next-generation cabin experience.
A new technology, “smart window,” enables passengers to host virtual meetings while in the air, track flight progress, and, for leisure, to provide video games and movies or a cinematic view of the flight from three 4K exterior cameras. The 42-inch smart window monitor, co-designed with Lufthansa Technik, is curved and “built in” to the aircraft’s wall.
Innovative “Smart Window” Technology

The new divan provides a third cabin zone in the same footprint as the two-zone previous model. The divan also adjusts electronically into a bed when not used for entertainment or meetings. The middle seat of the divan, once the least-used space on the aircraft, is the focal point for the “smart window” display and will likely become much more popular in the updated cabin.
A new cabin management system enables control of climate, lighting, entertainment, and the smart window from any seat on the aircraft. That level of advanced automation is typically found on larger intercontinental business jets that are 2-3 times the price of a Praetor.
Advanced Seats
Embraer has designed its own seats, with features ranging from fully adjustable headrests and leg rests to sleeper seat modes that even include settings for the firmness of the seat. These advanced seating concepts were developed from customer input and technological advances that Embraer believed could give the company a competitive advantage in mid-sized and super mid-sized models. We expect that the upgraded interiors will be attractive to fractional operators.

The Bottom Line
The Embraer Praetor family offers the longest range and highest speeds in its class. With that performance, longer flights are possible, up to 8-9 hours for a Praetor 600E. The new interiors now match an advanced customer experience to the aircraft’s high performance, enabling the aircraft to continue disrupting the market through innovation. The level of detail in the new interior design is impressive.
Embraer expects to deliver the first Praetor 500E and 600E models in the first quarter of 2029. The company has a strong track record of certifying and delivering new models on time and on budget, with more than 20 new models over the last 25 years.
