Emirates and United are set to increase their codeshare agreement to add eight new Mexican destinations. In the past, Emirates had interline agreements with Mexico’s Interjet and Aeromar. Both carriers have ceased operations (December 2020 and February 2023), leaving Emirates without a strong partner in the North American country. Its grudge with Aeromexico over the Dubai-Barcelona-Mexico City route in 2019 makes it difficult for these two airlines to partner, despite being the logical option.
