Where Boeing has got a foot in the door at Vietnam Airlines thanks to the airline’s commitment to order fifty MAX 8s, Airbus seems to have done the same with Biman Bangladesh Airlines. French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday after a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that the airline has committed to buying ten A350-900s.
Once confirmed, the order would mean a renewal of the relationship between Airbus and Biman. The airline operates two A330-200s leased from Wamos Air in 2017 and February 2018. Between June 2006 and September 2016, the Biman Bangladesh had a fleet of six A310s, of which half was leased.
