We had a 27-minute chat, discussing last week’s show and the longtail impact on some news. The supply chain remains in dire straights.  The skill shortage is driving a lot of this.

Some OEMs are moving towards digitalization to solve the challenges. That works for the newer hires but doesn’t help the older hands. The bottom line is that we should, in all likelihood, expect another three to four years of slow deliveries.

That places us close to 2030, when the next generation of engines and aircraft hit the market, bringing its new challenges.  This is a fun business.

  1. I’m curious, did the Boeing Exec reply to your question about the 787-3? What was it?

  2. Yes he did, and said they look at every segment and every opportunity all the time.
