Embraer has given a sneak preview of its full-freighter E1 that it plans to launch as a conversion program around the middle of 2022. The brief preview was offered in an end-of-year video message of Arjan Meijer, CEO of Commercial Aviation. Embraer gives sneak preview of full freighter E-jet.
The video showed two options: a full freighter with what looks like four blocks of so-called Unit Load Devices (ULDs) or containers. The four ULDs of an estimated two to three meters each are spaced over the full length of the cabin of an E195 (see the main picture). In a second option, Embraer has turned the aircraft into a Combi version, with eleven rows of passenger seats or 44 in total that extend to half the wing. After a cargo bulkhead, there is space for two ULDs.
