PR: São José dos Campos, Brazil, July 1, 2026 – Embraer today announced it has concluded the acquisition of additional stake in the joint venture with Safran Cabin, along with certain assets related to its operations in Brazil.

The agreement includes the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in Mexico-based EZ Air Interior Limited, a joint-venture established in 2012 between Embraer and C&D (current Safran Cabin) in Chihuahua that has exclusively supported Embraer programs, producing components such as luggage bins, galleys, lavatories, and floor panels for the E-Jets family.

The agreement also encompasses the integration of part of Safran Cabin’s operations in Jacareí, Brazil, which are likewise dedicated to Embraer programs. The non-Embraer related engineering services activities of Safran Cabin Brazil will remain with Safran.

“Embraer is continuously evaluating opportunities to create value for its stakeholders, and this agreement supports our strategy to expand operations in both the short and long term,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer. “I would like to thank Safran Cabin for this successful long-term partnership and warmly welcome the new colleagues joining Embraer. Together, we will continue to deliver excellence driven by safety, quality, efficiency and sustainability.”

The transaction was completed upon obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals and fulfilling customary conditions.

Notes:

  • Consolidation continues.  This time vertically from an OEM into the supply chain. A small-scale version of what happened with Spirit AeroSystems.
  • For Embraer, this looks like yet another move into the supply chain.  They brought in wings and landing gear before.
  • The theme to us in a word: ‘Derisk’
  • Safran has not covered itself in glory with cabin fixtures. They also need to derisk.
  • Embraer has an established pattern of bringing in key parts of the supply chain that look risky.
  • For Embraer customers, this is a quiet signal of better control and steadier delivery cadence.
