Daher Aircraft has acquired US-based Quest Aircraft Company, based in Sandpoint, Idaho, which builds the Kodiak 100 utility turboprop. Daher, which manufacturers the TBM family of high-speed turboprops, thus expands both its aircraft manufacturing business and strategic presence in North America.
Kodiak, which has been owned by Japan’s Setouchi Holdings since 2015, was founded to support missionary work with an aircraft that could operate from rough and ultra-short runways. The 10-seat Kodiak, which like the TBM is powered by the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6, is certified in 67 countries and is used by air-taxi, recreational and leisure operators, along with businesses, pilot-owners, and humanitarian organizations.
