Avianca has announced the return of its direct route connecting Bogotá with Chicago, starting October 27. This route will operate seven weekly flights, utilizing A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers, for a weekly offer of over 2,500 seats. The airline is bouncing back.

The airline previously operated this route between El Dorado International Airport and O’Hare International Airport from 2018 to 2019. The return of this route will strengthen connectivity across the Americas, enabling travelers from South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and even Europe to connect with the Windy City via Bogotá.

At Avianca, we continue to bet on providing more connectivity and access to new destinations worldwide for our customers. After landing in Montreal and Paris this year, we now announce the start of operations for the Bogotá-Chicago route, consolidating an interesting network that allows our travelers to connect with more than 10 destinations in the United States and also facilitate the arrival of new visitors to Colombia and the Americas. Without a doubt, we return to Chicago with a renewed proposal that will allow more people to fly safely, on time, and with their luggage,” said David Alemán, Avianca’s Director of Sales for Colombia and South America.

We celebrate this new route with Avianca between Chicago and Bogotá, which boosts tourism in the country and strengthens our air connectivity with the United States, our main source market for travelers. As a leading destination in South America for U.S. visitors, Colombia continues to offer meaningful and sustainable experiences. This route solidifies our position as a key player in the hemisphere’s air connectivity,” said Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia, the country’s promotion agency.

Chicago becomes the 13th city that Avianca will serve in North America, connecting its customers to a network that includes Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington, Houston, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Ontario, and San Francisco, and now Chicago from October.
