Embraer announced a major order at the Singapore Air Show from Air Costa, a regional carrier based in Southern India, for 50 E2Jets for delivery starting in 2018, plus 50 options.
Air Costa is a new entrant in the Indian market that started service last October using ERJ-170s and ERJ-190s, and flies from the metro markets in the south of India to secondary cities in the north and west. They currently have a fleet of 2 ERJ-170s and 2 ERJ-190s, configured in 2 classes (3 and 4 abreast). The carrier has an ambitious growth plan.
