Jared Esselman, Director of Aeronautics, Utah Department of Transportation provided the Keynote address at the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) 2019 UAS Conference. A veteran of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, three years ago Jared came to Utah from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association to head up the Division of Aeronautics in Utah. He brought with him a vision for an Urban Air Mobility network in Utah. In this keynote presentation, he provides an overview of the UDOT UAM program potential for Utah and Salt Lake City Airport. Jared challenges other airports to start to include UAM flight operations in master plans.
