Mitsubishi has begun to lose some long-term suppliers for its MRJ program, which began in 2008 and was initially schedule to enter service in 2013. Some six years later, the MRJ program is looking at a sixth potential program delay.
Toray, a supplier of carbon fiber composites and the manufacturer of tail assemblies for the program, has withdrawn from the program, citing the unlikelihood of earning a profit given the multiple program delays.
