With this achievement, Arajet became the first Dominican airline to surpass one million passengers in a calendar year, solidifying its position as the country’s leading local carrier and the fourth-largest airline by passenger movement in the Dominican Republic.

According to data from the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Arajet continues to dominate the local market, carrying 85% of all passengers transported by Dominican airlines. In addition, more than 25,000 connecting passengers boosted the airline’s total user count to over 120,000 in November alone.

Victor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and Founder of Arajet, expressed gratitude to the airline’s passengers for choosing Arajet as their preferred option for leisure and business travel. “Our goal is to position the country as an aerial hub for the region and to strengthen the local tourism industry,” Pacheco stated.

New routes and projected growth

Since launching operations at Punta Cana Airport, Arajet has experienced significant growth. The most traveled routes from Punta Cana include Buenos Aires and São Paulo, while the most popular destinations from Las Américas International Airport were Bogotá and Medellín.

Looking ahead to December, the airline projects it will close in 2024, having transported approximately 1.2 million passengers, driven by the success of new routes connecting Canada to the Southern Cone.

Arajet continues to position itself as a key player in the regional air travel market, enhancing connectivity for the Dominican Republic and contributing to the growth of tourism and business sectors in the country.
