News: An Anti-drone shield (link here) has passed tests for airport protection by its manufacturer, Indra.  The ARMS system – which stands for Anti Remotely piloted aircraft system Multisensor System can detect, identify, and bring drown drones close to airports.  The sensors are sophisticated enough to identify the type and model drone, its frequency for communications, jam its source, and take over through spoofing to force the drone to land in a controlled manner.  The system can also work in the event a swarm of drones was launched, including effectively providing an electronic dome over a facility.

Also today, Boeing test-flew its first passenger drone, and while we are still years away, it utilizes similar underlying technologies to drones, as it is remotely controlled.
