Arguably the world’s greatest test pilot, Eric Brown, passed away yesterday in England at 97. His record is amazing and may not be beaten in a long time, if ever. Here is an appreciation from the BBC.
Here is our podcast with this remarkable man along with some great video footage.
Co-Founder AirInsight. My previous life includes stints at Shell South Africa, CIC Research, and PA Consulting. Got bitten by the aviation bug and ended up an Avgeek. Then the data bug got me, making me a curious Avgeek seeking data-driven logic. Also, I appreciate conversations with smart people from whom I learn so much. Summary: I am very fortunate to work with and converse with great people.
What an amazing test pilot! You know a test pilot is great when dies of old age instead of a firey wreck.
Would throughly recommend his book – “Wings on my Sleeve”
