Flight shaming is just the latest version of environmental nonsense that has been promoted by activists for years. Flygskam is a good name – as most English speakers would translate it to flight scam. Global warming IS real, as the earth has been warming since the last ice age. And there weren’t any airplanes around to contribute CO2, which is essentially plant food, to the atmosphere. Climate is cyclical, and climate change is caused by the conditions on that big yellow ball in the sky. If it pumps out a few more solar flares, we can fry and if it suddenly catches a cold and stops doing so, we freeze.
We are continuously told that 97% of scientists believe in global warming and that it is caused by humans. The 97% number was put out there by an Australian blogger named John Cook in 2013 and went viral in the media. Out of hundreds of thousands of papers on climate, he chose 12,000 and subjectively interpreted the abstracts to support his theory. Subsequently, an independent review of the same 12,000 papers show that less than 2% believed that mankind is responsible for global warming. But the media, entertainers, and now teenaged environmentalists take it as gospel that the scientific community believes that man is responsible for and can stop climate change. The real answer is that we aren’t and we can’t. Period.
